Home to four of the ten centenarian vineyards of South Africa (three Semillon), and a significant number of old vine parcels, result in the distinctive quality of Franschhoek Semillon.
Four Franschhoek winemakers (Donovan Ackermann | Rickety Bridge, Ryan Puttick | Franschhoek Cellars, Tim Hoek | Haute Cabriere, Thierry Haberer | Holden Manz) contributed their finest barrels to produce the Regional Series Franschhoek Semillon 2021. A uniquely collaborative process designed to showcase a true expression of their regional signature style.
Tasting Notes
A subtle nose of restrained lemon zest and lemon leaf, with a light touch of dust and nettle. That lemony zip and vivacity is immediately apparent in the mouth. Succulent and fresh, the brightness balanced by a rich palate weight and texture indicative of time spent in oak. The seamlessly integrated wood portion doesn’t add flavour, just presence, and body. Poised, structured, and refined, will reward patience.
